Upcoming Events @ Harvards Sportsman’s Club

Massachusetts Biathlon host various events throughout the year to provide opportunities for the New England community to learn and participate in the sport of biathlon. Events take place year round: we ski when their snow and bike or run when there’s not. We have two major types of events:

Beginner Clinics

These events are designed for folks that are just getting into the sport. They are designed to familiarize folks with how biathlon events run and the common safety rules that need to be followed. Real biathlon rifles are used that fire live 22LR ammunition on steel biathlon targets. After a clinic you will know everything you need to in order to safely participate in one of our open / masters races.

Optical Biathlons

These events are held at the Leo J Martin Ski Track in Weston, MA (190 Park Rd, Weston, MA 02493). The rifles used in this program are from Finnish company called Ecoaims. They are an optical system that “shoot” a beam of light to the target. More information can be found here.

Open / Masters Races

These events are for folks that know how to safely handle a rifle and have either raced competitively before or attended a Beginners Clinic. Racers have the option of shooting at two levels: Novice or Expert. Novice shoot prone on standing targets and Experts shoot prone on prone targets. If you don’t know what that means you should attend one of our beginner clinics.
